1. Pre-Cleaning & Tenant Preparation
Essential groundwork to complete before any cleaning begins.
Remove all personal belongings, furniture, and rubbish from all rooms, built-in wardrobes, and cupboards.
Ensure electricity and hot water remain connected for cleaning equipment, oven detailing, and final inspection.
Locate your original RTA Form 1a (Entry Condition Report) to cross-reference pre-existing marks, scuffs, and fixtures.
Defrost refrigerator and freezer 24 hours prior (if furnished/included) and place towels to catch meltwater.
Check the special terms of your lease agreement regarding pet fumigation or professional carpet steam cleaning receipts.
2. Kitchen & Cooking Appliances

Balconies & Patios: sweep outdoor floors, wipe railings/balustrades, and remove exterior cobwebs.
Garage & Carport: sweep concrete floors, remove cobwebs, and degrease fresh oil drips (where applicable).
8. Final Move-Out Inspection & RTA Form 14a Walkthrough
The final quality verification before handing keys back to the real estate agent.
Compare the finished clean against your original RTA Form 1a Entry Condition Report.
Take high-resolution, date-stamped photos of every room, inside the oven, windows, and carpets.
Complete your tenant section of the RTA Form 14a (Exit Condition Report).
Attach professional cleaning receipts (e.g. carpet steam receipt with ABN) to your Form 14a submission.
Return all property keys, access fobs, and remotes to the real estate office by the agreed deadline.
